Silver linings are nifty
Apr. 17th, 2004 12:36 amThe nice thing about having to work the biggest show of the year on the weekend when you really NEED to be working on papers is that you have a legitimate excuse for not being able to finish on time.
Seriously, I tell my teachers I was working the whole weekend for the Benefit, and they just accept it. (The nice thing about this is that I'm not even lying! It really DOES eat up all my time!)
This show brings in 75% of my school's annual income. Think about that for a minute. If every student pays an average of $15,000 a year, and we have roughly 2400 students... this ONE show brings in how much money?!?
Rich people scare me.
But anyway, back to the point.
I got so stressed out today that I was actually calm. It was WEIRD.
And I decided that there was very little I could do beyond getting one paper in before midnight, which I DID. And then there's the weekend to consider, so I don't even have to be all that stressed about missing a couple deadlines.
Because the teachers know what's really important.
The money, man. It's all about the money.
...
It's times like this I have to work extra hard to preserve my active state of hating Money.
But it's saving my butt. So I guess I don't mind it so much, after all.
