Update

Sorry I haven't been very communicative lately, folks. I update just about as frequently (or infrequently, as the case may be), but I've let other areas of communication, like email and good old-fashioned telephony, slide. Apologies.

Anyway, I'm back up at Dominican, now. Can't rightly refer to it as "school" anymore, can I? Heh. I'm still in my same room, though. With all of my same stuff.

Except NOW, I have room for BOOKS!!! SO. GIDDY.
This fact more than makes up for the travesty that greeted me upon my return: they had REPLACED my FURNITURE.

ALL of it. Even Irv! (Irv was my chair. Incidentally, Seth was my desk, and Andrew my dresser. They are gone, as well.) They replaced my beautiful, sturdy, oak furnishings with streamlined, smaller, PLYWOOD... things. I was most disgruntled, I must say.

However, as I mentioned, I'm willing to overlook this heinous offense because my books told me it was okay. Their presence soothes my soul. I never had room for them when I was a student because the space they rightly should have occupied was always taken by textbooks and binders.

That is no longer the case, HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

I brought up old favorites, recent finds, classics I've always intended to read, and several guilty pleasures, just because I can.

You know what's even better? I have more room, should I ever wish to bring up MORE.

*defiantly punches fist in the air* YES!

Okay, back to update-type things, I went to see Harry Potter 3 in a midnight preview with Meghan and Ali, and I have to say, WOW. I was really really REALLY hoping they'd finally turn out a decent adaptation, and I was more than moderately impressed by this one. (Freakin' FINALLY!) By the third book, things are starting to get darker for Harry. For everyone. And the film accurately reflects that. Naturally, I'm disappointed that they left a few details out (as usual), but they managed to keep the story true to the book and to keep the details they included accurate. For the most part. Really, I'm not that picky. I'm just glad it turned out so well.

You should all go see it now. :-D

In other news, job is going well. I'm working eight hours a day, four days a week, and it's generally pretty boring. Nothing I'm not used to. The one interesting element that's been added since I've been away is that the four staffers a link below the top in the chain of command (and how's THAT for metaphor?) have begun a little... mutiny. Hee hee. Their powers combined, THEY will OUST Director Wyatt! (In case you weren't aware, you should have been seeing Captain Planet in your mind's eye just then.)

Anyway, I'm staying out of that bit because if I play my cards right and don't piss anyone off, I might actually move up a notch in the scheme of things and have a real job.

Not that I'd necessarily take it. I mean, there's still Grad school to consider. I'm just saying, it'd be nice to have the option of a salary, as opposed to the pathetic check I wouldn't be able to live off of if they weren't helping me out with housing.

I'm done grousing now, though, because y'know what? I'm sincerely lucky (maybe make that 'blessed') to have all I have, to know everyone I know, and to love and be loved by so many awesome people. I should think more about them than myself, and Theresa's right. We should all pray more.

Okay, shower and sleep time.

This was one of the most disjointed things I've ever written.

*shrug* Ah well.
