Grandpa update
Feb. 16th, 2006 02:47 amPneumonia.
He's still at Carle, and though he's not getting any better, he's not losing any ground, either. Fever and low, low blood pressure.
They've got him on antibiotics that doubled the effect of his blood-thinners, so there was a scary hour or so the other night when they realized his blood was thinned out more than recovering bypass patients. His normal BP is ~80/40, and with the fever and everything, it could have gotten very bad if they hadn't caught their own mistake. I'm putting aside my bitterness over the slip-up and instead focusing on being grateful it didn't kill him.
If you're the prayin' sort, we could use them right about now. :-)
And I keep thinking I'm tired, but compared to Nancy, I'm chipper. She's had a killer migraine through all of this (the last three days), on top of stress and little sleep.
Speaking of sleep, Kaylee's dozing on my lap, and it looks very appealing.
