Well, here's something to post
Jun. 9th, 2007 02:23 pmI've been considering this whole blogging thing, and I'm mostly done with it. I'll continue to keep up with people via LJ, but I don't really expect to post much anymore.
Except that I have something to post, so never mind.
So, I haven't been in a writing mood since... sophomore year of college. Wow, that's... about six years. ...Wow. Well. Anyway. I've been thinking about that a great deal lately, about how I haven't really been feeling the creative energy for a long time - my muse, as it were, has been on vacation (in Hawai'i; she's a snob about it, too) - and that's a bummer. I figured out why, though. I've been using my imagination plenty, but not for fiction or drawing or involved games of Let's Pretend while playing outside (a common pastime during my childhood and adolescence). I've been using it for troubleshooting and work; I've been using it when thinking about my future; and I've been using it when figuring out ways to keep our cats from tearing the apartment to pieces, burning it down, or locking themselves in a room that doesn't include their food, water, or litter box. That was a long sentence.
Anyway, I've been channeling it, but not in the same direction as usual, and now that I've figured that out, it's not as troubling.
Especially since I had an idea for a story last night.
I'm not actually writing it yet, but I've got three pages of brainstorming, which for some reason I've decided to share with you all (not that you're all losers or something, just that I usually keep this sort of thing to myself and only let the world see the final product). You guys even get to see the stream-of-consciousness stuff because I'm too lazy to track it all down and excise it.
( Anyway here's the idea, and if you want to comment or have any more ideas, I'd welcome them. )
