7) Spent two hours calling every conceivable music organization (Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta, DePaul University, Northwestern Unv., my former piano teacher, a guy who played guitar for my choir two years ago...) to assemble, AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE, a pit orchestra for the upcoming performance of Big River - The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Thursday, Nov. 18th through Sunday, Nov. 21st.

Why the last-minute rush?

WELL.

The director delegated the responsibility of securing musicians to someone and that person proceeded to do... SQUAT.

SO.

The director is now ONE TECH WEEK AWAY FROM DISASTER.

Her solution was to freak out with me in the room.

At which point I said, "Hey, y'know... I know some musicians..."

And here we are.

I can't leave yet because musicians keep, like, calling.

It's pretty cool, actually. :-P
