corenn: (Big fandom. Huge.)
Nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] lyssie.

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

Christian music - For me, music is the easiest and most fulfilling form of praise. I.. don't think I can explain it beyond that.

M. C. Escher - Hands down, the most visually interesting lithograph artist of all time. Check him out, people!

Incurable lurking - Livejournal is addictive, the end.

Mini!otp - This is a subfandom in Stargate fandom, and next to the pants!verse, it is my faaaavorite. Basically, there was an episode of Stargate SG-1 in which the team leader was cloned, and his clone only grew to age 15. MOST HILARIOUS HIJINKS ENSUED. At the end of the episode, mini-Jack decided to try the high school thing again, and online fandom picked up the storyline there. So now there's a mini-Sam, mini-Daniel, mini-Janet, mini-Teal'c, and even mini-Atlantis folks and Replicarter. And they have adventures. It's silly and fluffy and adorable.

Picture framing - It's in the family. I get to use ancient tools like a gigantic paper slicer and antique awls and punches and sanders and things. It's nifty!

Stargate fanfiction - Oh, where do I start? Fanfiction is FUN. The Stargate universe allows for so many story possbilities. The fanfiction based on the series ranges from tiny snippets of conversation between characters all the way to 300-page novels with completely original cultures and characters. Some of the novels I've read would work as original fiction without much altering, actually. I wish writers like Doc or Denise would be chosen to write the authorized novels. I'd buy them ALL. And the nice thing about Stargate fandom is that aside from the mainstream forums, it's relatively sane. The fanfiction awards are extremely well-organized and fairly judged (from what I can tell). Stargate fans can be found the whole world over, and the majority are intelligent, not to mention good writers. The majority that I read, anyway. It takes some sifting. It's just FUN. *shrug*

Wonderfalls - For a series that only aired four episodes before it was cancelled, Wonderfalls certainly fought hard for its DVD box-set. Most shows that got booted that early would have grumbled for awhile, wheezed, gasped, and then disappeared completely. But Wonderfalls is scrappy. Excellent writing, snark to spare, clever stories, interesting characters, solid actors... This series has/had it all. If you haven't borrowed it from me yet, let me know. It's on loan until the end of next week, and then it'll be ready for a new convert, muahahah.

Huh, I don't have as many interests listed as I thought. Well, whatever. Ciao, folks!
